What Makes Us Who We Are

We are inspired by HR. We believe employee management is the key to business success. We have degrees and advanced degrees in HR or HR related fields, are SHRM or PHR certified, regularly attend training to sharpen our knowledge, and have many years of experience in HR outsourcing.  We are certified and experienced in California, NY, and NJ, the trickiest states. We also are well versed and have clients in all states. We stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal laws and approach HR from a business perspective. Everything we do is to promote business and HR.

The Team


Sasha Mamula-Elkins MBA, MSP, SPHR, SHRM-CP

Sasha has over 15 years of experience in business consulting, recruiting, and HR consulting. She has worked with many types of companies including manufacturing, engineering, non-profit, professional services, cannabis, tech, and production and entertainment. Her specialized work includes HR audits, policy writing, employee and manager training, employee engagement, safety plan writing, and California labor law. She has tailored her practice specifically to small and medium-sized businesses because, as an entrepreneur herself, she understands their unique challenges.

While working full-time with a toddler in tow, Sasha earned her MBA and Master’s in Psychology, both of which further strengthen her HR knowledge base. She approaches HR from a business, psychological, and legal perspective. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a Certified Professional through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP), and holds a CA HR Specialty certification (SHRM). In addition, she has certifications in OSHA for HR, Injury and Illness Prevention Plan creation, Six Sigma for Professionals, and Human Capital Management through ADP. She lives and breathes HR and loves helping businesses grow and thrive!

Lauren Amabile

Lauren Amabile, SHRM-SCP
Senior HRBP

Lauren is an HR leader with 11 years of dynamic, hands-on, multi-state HR experience and a passion for coaching employees at all levels on People Operations and Leadership. Lauren started her HR career with Panera Bread and has since worked with companies in aerospace and defense, pharmaceuticals, and therapeutic pediatric health care where she elevated the workplace through strategic HR business partnership. Lauren loves to dig in and help company leaders navigate employee relations, legal compliance, training, and project management. It is her mission to show business owners and their employees that HR is a valuable and trusted partner for the whole team!

A graduate of Philadelphia’s Temple University, Lauren has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a focus on Criminal Justice, as well as her SHRM-Senior Certified Professional credentials. Though Lauren eats, sleeps, and breathes HR, she is also a wife, a mom to two very busy little girls, and active in her community. In a rare free moment, Lauren loves to create and has a small side business making bags, backpacks and other accessories from repurposed and remnant materials.


Christina Calderon PHR, SHRM-CP, PHRca​​​​​​

​​​​​​​Christina has been in human resources since 2007 holding various positions from Recruiting Assistant, HR Coordinator, HR Business Partner, and HR Director. She has provided HR support to various industries including defense and aerospace contracting, 3rd party logistics, distribution, higher education, human capital management, and construction. Christina has a BS in Human Resource Management and is currently working on a Master of the Study of Law at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. She also has her PHR, PHRCa, and SHRM-CP.

Christina serves as a board member on the local chapter of SHRM and is a mom of a US ARMY soldier, Cal State San Marcos student, and an elementary basketball all-star. She is a Los Angeles Dodgers and Rams fan.


Angela Potter SHRM-CP, PHR

Angela Potter is an accomplished HR professional with over 15 years of experience in Human Resources. Angela has worked extensively within technology, hospitality, manufacturing, small businesses, and health care companies over the course of her 15-year career. Her specialties include process improvement, HR information systems, full cycle recruiting, investigations, litigation preparation, compensation analysis, and management coaching.

Angela is certified through the Society for HR Management (SHRM) as a Human Resource Professional (SHRM – CP). She’s also certified though HRCI Learning Center as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). She holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management.

Patrice Tucker

Patrice Tucker

With a robust foundation of over 20 years in human resources, Patrice has carved out a distinguished career, marked by a deep-seated passion for fostering strong employee relations and driving organizational success. Her journey in HR began after graduating from George Mason University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. This academic background has been pivotal in her approach to HR, especially in understanding and navigating the complexities of employee dynamics.

Patrice’s career is highlighted by 9 years of HR leadership experience within the entertainment industry, including a notable tenure as an HR Manager at Universal Studios. During this time, she honed her skills in managing a diverse range of HR functions, from employee relations to strategic HR initiatives. Her efforts in these areas have not only enhanced the work environment but have also contributed significantly to the organizations’ goals.

Her expertise extends to designing and implementing strategic HR initiatives, benefits administration, tracking leaves of absence, and focusing on employee retention strategies. Patrice is known for her excellent problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills, which have enabled her to build successful relationships across all levels of an organization.

Patrice prides herself on her history of successful interactions with diverse groups and senior leaders, demonstrating an innate ability to resolve conflicts peacefully and effectively. She is comfortable and effective in engaging with professionals at all levels, showcasing her adeptness in creating harmonious work environments.

Lauren Knox Headshot

Lauren Knox

Born and raised in Southern California, Lauren is an HR Professional with over 11 years of experience in Human Resources. She is passionate about engaging with people and spotting great talent.

Her background primarily focuses in private companies within the Hospitality and Services sectors including global PR/Marketing agencies with emphasis in luxury travel and tourism, Executive Search- management consulting services and CPG companies. As a previous Director of People and Culture, she is passionate about helping people by creating meaningful employee experiences, investing in talent growth, and developing cultures where people teams will thrive. Majority of her experience is focused on the building blocks of the HR function from overall employee experience, performance management, coaching and compliance with a focus on Culture.

A graduate from University of California State Fullerton, she received a BA Liberal Studies and double minored in Child Development and Psychology. She holds a HRManagement accreditation from Loyola Marymount University and is certified in both SHRM-CP and the Hogan Suite of tools assessments that maximize organizational and behavioral success for talent development.

She has a passion for education and a love for people and believes in the power and connection of relationships to communicate and coach human behavior creating positive, lasting, and impactful experiences.


Janette Gomez

Janette is a dedicated and accomplished HR professional with over 15 years of experience driving business success through strategic human resources leadership. With a proven track record in Entertainment and Sports, Retail and E-commerce, Beauty, Marketing, Mental Health, Gaming, Consumer Goods, Lifestyle Products and Agency industries, Janette excels in full cycle recruiting, employee relations, Talent Management, investigations, compensation analysis, Strategic Alignment, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and management coaching, with a passion for empowering organizations and individuals alike.

Beyond HR, Janette is committed to giving back, serving as an executive, career, and life coach at community colleges in Los Angeles and volunteering at orphanages in Baja California, Mexico. With a certification in HR from UCLA program, Janette continues to make a lasting impact in the HR landscape and the community at large.


Shanta Moore MS, SHRM-SCP
Human Resource Contractor

Leveraging over 15 years of experience in Human Resources, Shanta has a passion for helping organizations establish infrastructure and develop its managers into leaders who make a life long impact. She has worked across diverse industries ranging from Behavioral Health, Property Management, Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) and Public Administration. Shanta has assisted in the development of over 5,000 employees throughout her career, including serving as a Director of Human Resources for a multi-state and remote workforce. As the previous owner of Shanta’s Maid Service, a company she started at only 23 years old, she gets the entrepreneur mindset.

Shanta holds a Masters Degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University and Bachelors Degree in Psychology from CSU San Bernardino. She also holds her SHRM-SCP certifications.

Why we started SweeterHR

Many companies say they are in “HR” or state they’re an “HR” company despite the fact it is not their main service.  Often, it seems like an afterthought. We came across practices we felt didn’t help our small local businesses thrive the way they could with local, value-driven HR support.  

With larger HR companies, businesses often pay a premium for an HR specialist they don’t speak with regularly. Sometimes the service is entirely by phone from someone, or a group of people, outside California, without any real knowledge of what California businesses go through, and with little real world HR experience. Business clients can go months without seeing or speaking to their HR Specialist although they pay for a service each month. 

Many HR Specialists in these large HR companies have up to 90 business clients! It is hard to get dedicated support when 1 out of 90. It is hard to provide great service to a business client when overloaded with other clients. 

We felt this was a disservice to local businesses and HR. Charging small business owners a ton for an HR service they rarely receive, don’t see, or for “specialists” who are not local and not HR experts, does nothing to help our local businesses grow, compete against the “big guys”, or show the true value of proactive HR support.

During our career in HR we noticed local HR specialist entrepreneurs provided the best value to local businesses. Often the investment was lower for businesses and the HR specialists tend to spend more dedicated time with their clients, driving value. Local HR specialists also know and understood the community in which their business clients operate. For this reason, we focus on connecting local HR specialists with local businesses, supporting our entrepreneurs and helping their communities flourish.
